By OCinSite Staff

In celebration of spring, The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel hosts four incredible, non-edible Easter eggs, each individually painted by a local artist, specifically: Trevor Mezak, James Galindo, Robin Hiers, and Kym de los Reyes. The enormous hand-crafted eggs are a “must see” and make a unique backdrop for a springtime family portrait. Guests are invited to hop on over to the resort to see these brightly decorated eggs, which will be on display at the entrance of the resort from Friday, April 7 through Sunday, April 23, 2017.

Easter Brunch

Traditional breakfast items such as eggs Benedict, waffles, and made-to-order omelets will be available, as well as a dessert buffet to top off the celebration. Guests will also enjoy live entertainment and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny. Easter Brunch is $118 per person and will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Incredible (Non-)Edible Easter Egg Artists

Artist Trevor Mezak
Defined and recognized for his elaborate use of texture in his signature impressionistic style, Trevor Mezak is an artist who is driven to create every day.  “I feel the day is missing something if I don’t,” says the artist. Fascinated with the ocean since he was a child, he has a passion for painting beach scenes, which are most often memories from recent surf trips. Born in southern California, Mezak has been painting since his teens. His self-taught style has evolved through his vast experience with mediums and techniques. Acrylics, because of their vivid color and texture, have proven to be his medium of choice. While he notes William Debilzan and Aldo Luongo as artists who inspire him, Mezak draws much of his inspiration from his experiences in the world and the moods they establish. “Before painting, I have to go surfing. It puts me in the right place.  When you’re in a good mood, it shows in your art. My studio is filled with loud music, the smell of coffee, my black lab at my side, and the occasional kid running through.” Trevor is currently partnering with Collector’s Editions and Disney Fine Art. His works are quickly growing in popularity and selling in galleries internationally.

Artist Robin Hiers
Robin Hiers paints beautiful people doing fun things.  Raised by artistic parents that encouraged her natural talent — she has never questioned her role in life. She simply paints art that makes people happy. Robin has a signature style that you can recognize right away. Bold and confidant, very direct, her lines are created with no hesitation. Influenced by pop culture, fashion, the beach life, and beautiful people – her art is a reflection of the times. Currently residing in her native Laguna Beach — she is capturing the life that is a feast for the eyes.

Artist James Galindo
James Galindo is an emerging young artist from Palm Springs, California. He began drawing at a very young age and eventually decided to pursue a college degree in painting. During his senior year in high school, James enrolled in figure drawing classes at College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California. It was then that he discovered his passion for figurative art, which encouraged him to pursue a higher education at Laguna College of Art & Design. After eight years of intense study, James graduated with a Master’s Degree in Fine Art. He has been the recipient of multiple scholarships and awards. James currently lives and works in Los Angeles, and teaches drawing and painting classes at Laguna College of Art & Design and Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art.

Artist Kym de los Reyes
A native Southern Californian, Kym is establishing a presence in her community and nationally. Her work is currently being collected through-out the U.S. Her art has been exhibited and sold in Lorimar Winery Art Gallery and at the Truax in Temecula, CA. Through The Christenberry Collection in Columbus, SC, her work has been collected by clients all over the east coast. She had been represented by The Gallery Downtown in Pomona, CA. Kym is thrilled to be represented by Laguna Gallery of Contemporary Art, Laguna Beach, CA and Emerald C Gallery in Coronado, CA. A mother of two, she is grateful for the opportunities this artistic journey is taking her.  Kym holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Cal State University, Long Beach.
