Laguna Beach Live! Introduces Inspiring Musical Talent to Budding Musicians

By OCinSite.com Staff

Laguna Live! announces a new partnership with the Susi Q Senior Center to present classical music in a new and entertaining way. Live! at the Q will showcase outstanding young talent in a concert setting with the added opportunity through chats to meet these up and coming artists. The program starts with pianist Nicole Kouwabunpat who will be featured in a free zoom class, 3:00-4:00pm, on September 24 that is offered by the Susi Q.

In preparation for the first concert, Laguna Live! had the center’s piano serviced and tuned, and also purchased a special microphone for musical programs to be zoomed or recorded. “We are grateful for grant money from the Assistance League and the Festival of Arts Foundation that allows us to respond to our new Covid reality with this new and exciting program,” said Cindy Prewitt, President of Laguna Beach Live! “We are not only bringing something special to those who are at home, we are also helping these young musicians in the early stages of their careers.”

Nicole Kouwabunpat is a student of Chamber Music|OC’s Pre-College Program and will play selected works from Bach, Brahms, Haydn and Chopin. She is a senior at Aliso Niguel High School and has performed as the Newman Recital Hall at USC, Soka Performing Arts Center, Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, and Orange Coast College. Nicole’s  passion for music ranges from solo repertoire and chamber music to her own compositions.

Recognized by industry leaders and top performing arts institutions, Chamber Music | OC’s Pre-College Program is the only pre-professional classical music training program of its kind in Southern California. The program is open to promising young musicians between the ages of 10 and 18.
