April is Earth Month, with April 22 being the date of Earth Day. Here is a listing of events to help keep you connected to what’s available here and now in the realm of taking care and living mindfully on this big, beautiful blue marble.

Garden Supper Club
Tues., April 17-June 12, 4-5:30 p.m., $170
SEEDS Arts & Education, Inc., Laguna Beach

Kids ages 6-10 will learn to grow their own organic vegetables and cook seasonal dishes. At the end of the class, they will prepare and share their produce to their parents and guests at a Spring Harvest dinner.

Mushrooms, Mushrooms, Mushrooms

In April, Chef Jimenez presents four wild mushrooms expertly prepared four different ways. Few ingredients are as versatile as the mushroom. Mushrooms are low in calories, fat-free, cholesterol-free and very low in sodium and, can also be featured as a dessert. A must-eat experience.

The event will take place in downtown Laguna Beach on Park Avenue, which will be closed to traffic. There will be many like-minded environmental organizations with exhibits to help educate the pubic about the natural beauty of Laguna Beach and how we can work together as a community to preserve our local environment, as well as foster a respect for the entire planet’s sustainability. Visit the Eco-Village, Eco-Lounge, and Eco-Expo.

Beach Clean-Up with Jean-Michel Cousteau

This Earth Day Beach Clean-Up is a fantastic day for neighbors and friends to come together and take care of our fragile marine environment, while also learning from Jean-Michel Cousteau about just how fragile our beaches and oceans are and how we can become an Ambassador of the Environment.
