The stage is set for drive-in/drive-thru concerts at Bayside Restaurant in Newport Beach.

Bayside Restaurant in Newport Beach is not only opening for takeout and 50% off select bottles of wine, but it’s also producing drive-in concerts with special performances by local musicians including by Ron Kobayashi & The Parking Lot Trio and legendary OC saxophone player Jerry Mandel (appropriately distanced, of course).
The stage is set, beginning this Friday (feat. Ron Kobayashi & The Parking Lot Trio); and again on Saturday (featuring Jerry Mandel). Next Thursday features Tracy Lee Longstreth and the Blues Makers.
Utilizing its massive parking lot, Bayside hosts its drive-in (or drive-through) concerts for all who come to pick up food orders at the restaurant. Patrons can enjoy the music as they drive in and out; or they can park and enjoy their food from the car, just like a drive-in movie showing.
Bayside’s proprietor Marc Ghoukassian and the staff are excited to be heading back to the restaurant, but Marc is also delighted to support the musicians that have performed at the Bayside lounge throughout the years.
“These talented artists deserve our support too!” says Ghoukassian.
Bayside management asks that if customers choose to park to listen to the music, that they ensure their vehicles are appropriately spaced so everyone can enjoy the concert from a safe distance. The staff is taking extra cleaning and safety precautions and wearing masks and gloves, in compliance with covid-19 prevention and safety measures, and for everyone’s peace of mind.
The menu is available to view online (baysiderestaurant.com). Orders can be called in at (949) 721-1222. Takeout is available 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, beginning Friday May 1, 2020. Concerts in the parking lot are from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Visit the website for concert lineups.
